We celebrated our 1 year Anniversary with a pancake dinner! Students enjoyed creating and personalizing their stacks! A special thanks to Mardy Hendon, Janet Spaulding and Nicki Chester for preparing the special treat and bringing in the delicious toppings!

Dawson MECHS Students visited the State Capitol last week and met with Senator Steve Gooch, State Representative Kevin Tanner, and other elected leaders. Site Administrator Shannon Gable accompanied students Samantha Huggard and Jerrel Smith to tour the Capitol with other MECHS Students.  This trip was a wonderful opportunity for students to see leaders in action.   A big "Thanks" to MECHS for giving our students this opportunity that they will never forget!  We also want to thank our elected leaders for hosting this event and meeting with students.

An Academic, Individualized, Evening High School

Mountain Education Charter High School (MECHS) is a collaborative effort of Elbert, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens, Rabun, Towns, Union, and White County School Systems. The MECHS collaborative organization also operates sites in Habersham and Stephens Counties. We are an academic, self-paced, individualized evening high school that serves students who are seeking a non-traditional school environment and who desire a Georgia high school diploma.

MECHS also serves students who need to make-up missed credit from their regular high school, enabling them to stay on academic track and graduate with their peers.

MECHS is a year-round high school that offers all Georgia required curriculum courses as well as a variety of vocational courses and state-mandated testing.
